Ways to get customers interested in your business again

It’s especially hard if you haven’t heard from them in a while, and you also may be wondering why there has been such a gap in communication with them.

We know some time-honored techniques to bring returning customers to your business. And, a lot of it does come down to simply talking to them more — about the right topics.

We looked at some advice from Entrepreneur and Forbes, who each talked to a variety of business leaders about ways to spark that customer dialog again and reengage them.

Start a specific program for returning customers

This is fairly easy to do, and you can use your social media as well as your customer list to find the right candidates. By pairing this with offers from existing customers, you can also reach both audiences well without alienating one or the other.

Sincerely ask for some help

This may seem like a stretch, but there is nothing wrong with sending out an email to the list to say that you’re hoping to get some help on how you can improve your business or what they’d like to see offered as choices to buy. From there, you will likely get some responses back if you include a survey with this ask for some help – and give them a discount for filling it out.

Find out their pain points

It’s a technique that also involves an ask for help but in a more specific way. You’re trying to find out exactly why they aren’t contacting you more often. Once you know what some of these pain points are, you can see how to solve them. Just make sure to thank the customer if there are solutions that take place — it’s a great chance for personalization.

Make empathy central to the conversation

No matter what you choose as far as some ways to get those customers back, it’s important to always do this with empathy for a customer’s situation. That should drive any discussion you have with them.
