Why making minimum payments should be top of mind

It bears repeating: encouraging people to make at least the minimum payment on debts is an important step to great financial health. Rebecca Oakes, assistant VP of advanced analytics for Equifax Canada, told the Toronto Star that making those minimum payments are important steps to maintaining a great credit score, and that consumers can also “look at their credit reports free of charge to understand which of their accounts are reported to the credit bureau and may affect their credit scores.”
