Canadian government hopes to help students in debt

June 2, 2021by Mark Ball

With the Canadian government’s budget recently passed, there’s a bevy of provisions strictly for students. The country’s budget reflects the fact that students “experienced more job losses than another age demographic,” according to a budget story on the CBC’s website.

To that end, plans call for a student financial assistance system to substitute for the Canada Student Loans program, with a greater and more flexible ease for paybacks as well as built-in interest absorption through 2023. The hope is that this compassionate view toward students in Canada will help quell a dire situation for many young adults.
